(16,858 posts)It didn't really look like there were all that many at the Capitol. Maybe the building dwarfed the people out in front of it. I went there twice when I was young, and the main thing I remember is the especially large number of steps. But the size of the crowd, I think, is important and I haven't heard an authoritative figure on that.

According to the reports Ive seen, the vast majority wanted to do their jobs but were restricted by not being allowed to use deadly force. Plus, there was no backup. The question is how high does the conspiracy go. All the way up to Trump? The DOD brass? All will come out soon enough.
