It turned out that we had police who participated in the attempted coup. Now, the government is bringing in the military to guard the inauguration. How do they know that a whole bunch of these people who are supposed to guard are planning the same thing? In that situation with how many soldiers there are going to be and all of them with guns that would be a bigger problem than last Wednesday.
So, set me straight on this paranoid feeling I have about all of this military power.

(33,140 posts)I think it was chosen in a response to the litany of other much better and more prominent writers in the same time period who were espousing exactly the opposite views on the social hierarchy.
They chose it because like the Bible they could say it said what they wanted it to say without worrying anybody would actually read it.

(8,144 posts)under military leadership, is too small to overcome the whole, not in this environment.
Although we may discover that someone in Cap. Police upper command structure helped facilitate coup, and some individuals were complicit, more than three hundred officers valiantly held off a violent mob for hours, regardless their own politics.
This military power will protect its country over Trump, regardless of any individual or group extremists in its ranks. Jan. 20 would not be a good day for them to try to fight the U.S. armed forces. It may be the most safe day we will have for awhile. Our military is prepared for any eventuality, including craziness within.

(30,613 posts)I hope we suddenly see a split-screen on TV, where the real ceremony is indoors, from an undisclosed location.
