Be prepared to be outraged.

At least I was, he owes Gabby Giffords an apology.

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/10/10098445-tucson-survivor-giffords-makes-me-want-to-vomit

A former Marine whose wife of 54 years was killed last year in the Tucson shootings that left six dead and 13 injured, including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, has strong feelings about the Arizona lawmaker and her retired astronaut husband, Mark Kelly.

"Every time I see them on TV," George Morris told the Arizona Republic, "it makes me want to vomit."

He said he and his wife had gone to Giffords' town-hall meeting outside the grocery store in Tuscon on Jan. 8, 2011, to complain to his congresswoman, who he says kept voting for liberal causes.

snip

"I think she ought to be thrown out of Congress posthaste," Morris told the Arizona Republic. "I do not think she is worthy of serving."

He's entitled to his grief, and if he and his wife were at the shooting to "complain to his congresswoman", I'm not outraged at all that he feels that way.

I'm sorry his wife lost her life in the shooting.

This idiot was going to yell at her for being a liberal, then his wife gets killed because some asshole -who was able to purchase a gun and a high capacity magazine despite being deranged (Thanx NRA)- decides to go on a shooting spree, and she makes him sick? Is he blaming her for his wife being shot?

What a douchebag.

It sounds like his opinion of Giffords is the same as it was before the shooting.

Perhaps he's also mad that there wasn't more security there (which is mentioned in the article). Maybe on some level he blames her and her staff for not taking more safety precautions. I'm not sure about the merits of that argument, but I can see a grieving widower like him making it.

Grief is powerful and often not accompanied by rational thinking. The guy is hurting.
What's outrageous is MSNBC politicizing his pain.

open firearm policy with unlimited access for all to whatever weapon they choose.

I wonder what liberal causes made him freak out? Healthcare? Social Security? Job Safety? Job Security? oh, he might have been pissed about imigration. I wish he would expound on his views to tell ya the truth. It's not like we libs don't love our own as much as anyone else in the world.

Man describes himself as an "ultraconservative"...in other words one step to the right of Hitler! Sounds like he's pissed because he lost his wife, and blames everyone but the man who pulled the trigger!

I believe he went to make a scene...to create a situation...and instead of writing a letter listing his complaints, he wanted to do it in person becasue he knew that the media was going to be there and he was out to make the Congresswoman defend her voting record!

Deep down inside he probably blames himself for his wife's death...thinking what could he have done differently that would have resulted in her life being spared...it's called PTSD!

This is all just my opinion...but based on my personal experience when my first wife took her own life!!!

He's pissed because he's conservative and he's surprised that she is voting liberal.

He isn't saying anything about her being shot.

He is just stating that he doesn't like her politics.

That's my take on the matter...

He went there to speak to a politician with whom he disagrees and lost his wife in the process.

If you are expecting him to be rational about his emotional reaction to that, you expect much.

There's not a "right" or "wrong" about it.

It's only been a year, and I cannot imagine that seeing her walk and talk, knowing his wife never will again is very, very painful. I would expect this kind of exploiting of his pain to be more a subject for Jerry Springer than MSNBC, though.

he is angry and blaming the victim. I don't agree with him but can certainly see how he could be confused given his situation. The fact that it seemed like a good story to MSNBC is more troubling.

as it has with this ultraconservative man.
His mind is its own prison.

That he feels the need to publicize his mental problem is common in the world of ultraconservatives. They all make me sick.

That would make him 70. Loss after that long of a time, at that age. Add 'right wing fevor', the anger is understandable. Sad, may be wrong, but understandable.
