(65,076 posts)Whatever they cost, the golf related costs should be 25% of whatever they are.
There are a couple hundred public courses better, and over a hundred country clubs, that blow those tracks away.
But, it costs us 13,000 times when a round should be at those joints!
13,000 times!
A HERETIC I AM
(24,370 posts)I see his entire golf empire crumbling in a very short period.
Palm Beach wants out of its lease for the land.
Ditto Dade County and Doral
And Scotland. And likely most of the rest.
He is toxic. He will come to, if he doesnt already, represent insurrection against a stable democracy. He will be seen in the coming years as having fomented civil strife.
Thats just not good for business.
No corporation, bank or large investment fund will want anything to do with him.
A million per round? Hes cost the worldwide economy MUCH more than that.
But hey, whodathunkit? I mean, what could possibly go wrong when the worlds preeminent conman, fraud and criminal is given the reigns of the most powerful office in the world?
We are going to be paying for this mistake for DECADES.

(22,037 posts)New York City has some wonderful public golf courses in all 5 boroughs and in spite of the high volume of play, they're mostly in pretty great condition.
The greens fee for a walking golfer at Clearview Golf Course is $28-$43. Not too bad for 4-5 hours of entertainment and sport. The facility is located in Queens at the southern foot of the magnificent Throgs Neck Bridge which is the western end of the beautiful Long Island Sound. The course has some fantastic views of the bridge and the waterfront as well as having a terrific variety of elevations.
Trump's NYC course in the Bronx at Ferry Point is directly across the upper East River, slightly to the west and at the Bronx side of the Whitestone Bridge. It has panoramic views of New York City, the East River and Long Island Sound. The greens fees range from $85-$250. It's a links-style course so it's pretty flat if you want to walk. But if you want a motor cart, you'll have to shell out and additional $35-$50.
All of that is too much money for public golf. Even though Jack Nicklaus designed the course, no public course should cost that much with the notable exceptions of Pebble Beach, TCP Sawgrass and maybe a couple more!
Since NYC is cancelling all of their contracts with Trump, someone else will be running the course in the Bronx and I hope they'll lower the rates!

(12,392 posts)And I do have to apologize to friends of mine who find a lot of joy and physical exercise on a golf course. That to me is just a way of swinging a stick at a little ball and I am trying to figure out why it is such a expensive luxury when you can walk out in the middle of any piece of property and do the same thing, and the farmer will only charge you five bucks and laugh at you, instead charging you millions of dollars per game
