Where's Jack Bauer? I mean, doesn't this all *feel* like an episode of 24 come to life?

...the desperate, insane President is just about to do something utterly mad, like push the Button. Jack managed to keep the Capitol Hill Riot from becoming a true coup, now he's waiting in the wings somewhere to save the day at the last minute. Or so I hope...

...Jack was friendly with, and an ally of, a Dem black President...and brought down a Nixonian GOP President. I heard Kiefer Sutherland once say that the show tried to avoid being ideologically predictable...

that was the main reason. That and being able to just bust open heads of people who don’t comply with orders - basically the police problem we have had for a while.
