(47,131 posts)A number of them knew what was going to happen, no way they would be without their guns.
We don't know what they would have done.

(13,903 posts)they would have been defending their colleagues as the "good guy with a gun" right?

(1,527 posts)I don't think they would have directly joined with the mob to do the shooting, but they might sure turn over 'high value' targeted politicians.

(2,472 posts)that they were fully identified as "good guys" by the mob. If it just got out that they were congress critters, they might get torn apart.
As to them shooting democrats and rinos, pretty sure they would if they thought they'd get away with it.

(13,466 posts)I didn't think enough of them would have the guts to break into the Capitol, and the madness and murder that followed, OMG. I have no idea what the extremist R's in the house would have done, might have just intimidated their fellows and basked in the adulations of the Visigoths. I wouldn't be surprised though if as many of them are packing as are NOT wearing masks! I don't put anything past anyone who plays any part in that "culture" at this point. And if someone has a gun on them, they are obviously more likely to use a gun than someone who doesn't.

(46,122 posts)As individuals, no, I don't believe the Trumpers would have entered the Capitol and wrecked mayhem.
But there's mob psychology where individuals relinquish their personal hesitations and follow the crowd.

(13,466 posts)And it's a cult! True believers think any crimes they commit are for the "greater good". Apparently Qanon has run wild in this country, thanks to social media algorithms, and is mixing with other dangerous cultures like white supremacy. I figured there would be more lone Qanon attacks, like the well-armed guy who showed up at the pizza parlor, but I didn't realize the extent of this cult. We are going to have problems for quite a while, IMO.

I can see Boebert being the one to put a bullet in the stomachs of the Squad, and demand on being the one to kill Pelosi. I mean that. Look at her background: she isn't crazy like I think Green and others are, she is a sociopathic fuck.
