NYT: People paying Trump tens of thousands of dollars for pardons

Blatant bribery. I think he's going to pardon the insurrectionists.

1. Not paying Trump. It's Trump's allies collecting fees for access. n/t

4. Excellent reporting. Some mind boggling stuff:
Mr. Kiriakou said he also broached his quest for a pardon during a meeting last year with Mr. Giuliani and his associates on another subject at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, which involved substantial alcohol.
When Mr. Giuliani went to the bathroom at one point, one of his confidants turned to Mr. Kiriakou and suggested Mr. Giuliani could help. But “it’s going to cost $2 million — he’s going to want two million bucks,” Mr. Kiriakou recalled the associate saying. “I laughed. Two million bucks — are you out of your mind?” Mr. Kiriakou said. “Even if I had two million bucks, I wouldn’t spend it to recover a $700,000 pension.” ![]() |

5. So if a twice-impeached president collects bribes for pardons
in his last days in office before a) being replaced by Biden and b) before he goes to federal prison for his own crimes against the nation, can those pardons be reversed? Including if he pardons himself? IOW, can obviously criminal traitors be held responsible or is a pardon a get out of jail free card with no repercussions forever and ever?

6. #factsmatter: the payments are to trump allies who claim the ability to influence trump
Not to trump.
Not for pardons (at least not directly) |
