Congress. The federal office buildings are shut down and people like my DH are working from home.

The residential areas are not affected significantly and are going about life as usual. They can’t pop into see the monuments or the museums at the moment, but they understand and are cool.

4. You can look at the area on Google Maps.

And using Street View. I don't know what the perimeter is, but everyone knows how to use those mapping programs. For example, if I have a client meeting in an office building I have never been to, I use Google Maps and Street View to find parking, locate the entrance to the building. and learn the traffic patterns. That way, I feel like I already know what I'm doing.

Rare opportunity to own an incredible iconic Hill home just steps from Congress. Simply cross the street to arrive at the House and Senate office buildings, Library of Congress, or Supreme Court. Charming original elements have been preserved and married perfectly with the modern addition and renovation. The entry will greet you and your guests with the grand charm of soaring ceilings, sliding pocket doors, original stained glass and stunning historic mantels. Major addition includes expansive contemporary eat-in kitchen and large owner suite with beautiful bath and enormous walk-in closet. A large third level offers a perfect guest suite, amazing space to create a large covered deck, and a study fit for a senator. Grab a book or a brandy and step out onto the balcony for a phenomenal view of the Capitol dome. Downstairs a fantastic outdoor patio makes this home a wonderful place to entertain both inside and out. Owners have air bnb'd the lovely adjoining basement for an extra income of approximately $50,000 /year. Parking could be created.

6 bedrooms, 5 baths, for only $3 million.

You'd have the Capitol building, the Supreme Court, and Library of Congress buildings between that neighborhood and the actual ceremony.

Main barricades are outside that neighborhood, but you may need ID to get into the area.
