What was the point of this presidency exactly in the grand scheme of things?

Seriously, why was it necessary for Donald Trump to have become POTUS and deny this country its first female commander-in-chief? To prove that electing insane, unqualified people as president is a horrible idea? To prove that the electoral college is garbage and needs to be done away with permanently? To show how morally bankrupt the Republican Party has finally become after several decades of a slow rot? What?

It wasn’t necessary for Al Gore or John Kerry to ever become president, but Donald Trump had to? Huh? I mean, what?

I’m an agnostic, so I don’t completely abandon the notion that there could be a reason for why life functions the way it does, but the reason we all had to sit through four (and thankfully only four) years of this horrible presidency? Yeah, I got nothing.

Most useless presidency ever. Just a total waste of fucking time from beginning to end.

What occurred is simply the result of countless peoples' actions, born of their desires; all risen-up from the depths of Ego.

The warp of better and worse wants are woven with the woof of endless actions and their results, not always wanted.

But for the abdication of voting by some, the entire pattern of time's tapestry is changed. Due 'bigly' to the lying of the one, the many acted rashly, their colorless desires whitewashing the brilliance of other possibilities.

Trump was like a deer in the headlights when he finally realized what he'd committed himself to after his meeting with Obama. He'd have preferred to have been a sore loser against Clinton and made much hay as a media mogul.

Once he was elected, an agenda had to be cobbled together around him. That worked out well.

I can remember, prior to trump, when people were saying that there was no more racism. That we had, as a nation, grown beyond racism. I remember arguing with friends and saying it wasn't true. But everyone (especially those of us who were white) wanted to believe it was true. It wasn't then and it's WAY obvious now, that racism is deep in our bones, even if we don't want it. We have to acknowledge racism and its legacy in order to destroy and banish it. It's not a 1 generation thing. This seems to be the next step. It's now really hard for at least half of the nation to deny. By the way, those people I argued with before, they were all liberals. So am I and I hear racist thoughts in my head all the time. I simply acknowledge them and banish them. I was taught them when I was very, very young. If I didn't see them, I would be more likely to act from them. So I look for those thoughts so that I can step around them and behave better. We can't get rid of something we don't acknowledge and address.

and they had to be SICK when they saw that BunkerBoy was kicking A$$ in the debates and was going to be their nominee.
And IQ45 - his reasons were simple - EGO and $$$$$$$$$ (although I still believe he did not THINK he would win (yeah, I know, him - "thinking" - HA!) and was shocked when he did. From that point on it was all for the $$$$$$ and playing "king."

A shameful disgrace to ever happened to our country. In the "Hall of Presidents" there should be this (*) beside his name - just like Shoeless Joe Jackson, Mark McGuire, Barry Bonds, and Roger Clemens.

I'm hoping it proves to be shining a light on white supremacy and privilege so it can be beat out of our institutions once and for all.

Oh sure you'll still have extremist groups and individuals, but getting it out of our schools, government, justice system, etc to a point everyone is treated with the same respect and benefit of the doubt as little old white ladies is long overdue.

I'm not sure I agree with that. Especially after four years of Trumpism.

I will not pass up any opportunity to remind rethugs of their horrendous and horrific lapse in judgment.

- They keep sending worse and worse rethug guys into the White House.
- Proof that they value empty rhetoric over intelligence.
- They are more interested in smears and insults over working together to get shit done.

In short, proof that when they whine about government not working, they go to any lengths to prove it.
