He’ll sell whatever is in them to the highest bidder—that’s pretty much a certainty—so is there any reason not to just give him “information” the US wants its enemies to believe?

consulted by the President in office for insight or advice on certain matters. By having access to intelligence briefings, they would be up to date on the latest details of the situation.

I can't imagine anyone needing or asking for Trump's advice or insight on any matter. Personally, I think he would divulge state secrets to our enemies if they approached him.
