As supporters of President Donald Trump took part in a violent riot at the Capitol, users of the social media service Parler posted videos of themselves and others joining the fray. ProPublica reviewed thousands of videos uploaded publicly to the service that were archived by a programmer before Parler was taken offline by its web host. Below is a collection of more than 500 videos that ProPublica determined were taken during the events of Jan. 6 and were relevant and newsworthy. Taken together, they provide one of the most comprehensive records of a dark event in American history through the eyes of those who took part. (3,496 posts)Then from our own government?!? Who's going to come forward and stitch all of this together? It's been weeks and there still hasn't been a high level press briefing from anyone as far as I know.
It's like this was just some minor fist fight after a sporting event and not an attempt to usurp the government. I'm loosing confidence anyone in the federal government is going to take this uprising very seriously.

(7,809 posts)What we have seen so far is footage recorded by the rioters themselves and posted online like fukkin' idjits.
No doubt that there are hours worth of footage from security cameras that we will never see because they are in secure and possibly secret areas.
In time we will see security camera footage from public areas of the Capitol, but just be patient. There are hundreds of prosecution cases being put together that will take time to be done properly. Rushing it will result in guilty people getting off on technicalities.

(42,770 posts)So many pics while committing a crime? Never saw anyone hide their face.
There has to be an explanation. Every one of them could not be a moron. Mathematically impossible.
I think there was a crazy mix of people involved.

(8,054 posts)Trump and Cruz and Hawley and others gave them the green light to go to the Capitol to "pressure" Congress. They felt perfectly entitled to do what they did, and they acted like little kids in school who discover there's no one watching them at recess. The serious ones wore masks, hid their faces, avoided cameras.

(1,527 posts)I do not have twitter, and not likely to.
But, I have seen threads here and on twitter where they were plotting the GPS location data on where different Parler posts were being made during the Riots on the 6th in and around the Capitol.
Since more data from Parler was also scraped, I am surprised that no one has found posts from Before the riots. I would think that some of the people taking the reconnaissance tours of and in the Capitol building are dumb enough to post selfies and videos of their tours before the riots.
This would seem to me to be the quickest way to verify who was actually there pre-sedition day.
If anyone is on one of the citizen investigative threads you might ask this question.

(32,645 posts)This is a huge collection. If you know people who attended the insurrection, this is worth your while. Rat them out, if you can.
The FBI is requesting to us to carefully scroll through these videos and see if we can positively ID anyone. There's a handy link to send your tips to the FBI. Or maybe the tips go to ProPublica and they will collect and send to the authorities.
Suggestion: it might be easier to view these without the audio playing. I found the audio track to be distracting and very repetitive.

(302 posts)This shows exactly how Trump got the crowd revved up and wanting revenge for what Trump calls "a rigged election" among other comments designed to make the crowd he summoned angry enough to want to do something about it. It is by no means an "appropriate" speech.
