Franklin Graham, slams Republicans for taking '30 pieces of silver' from Nancy Pelosi in Trump impeachment 'betrayal'
The controversial evangelist, Franklin Graham, has compared Republicans who voted for Trump's impeachment to Judas.
In a Facebook post, Graham compared the 10 Republicans who voted for Trump's impeachment to Judas Iscariot, the notorious apostle who betrayed Jesus after being paid 30 pieces of silver.
He began: "Shame, shame on the ten Republicans who joined with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in impeaching President Trump yesterday. After all that he has done for our country, you would turn your back and betray him so quickly?
"And these ten, from his own party, joined in the feeding frenzy. It makes you wonder what the thirty pieces of silver were that Speaker Pelosi promised for this betrayal," he continued later in the post.

(8,789 posts)Franklin Graham has no shame and is a prime example of toxic Christianity.
The conservative Christians that support evil-doers like Trump should have their noses rubbed in the filth that they have supported until they stop promoting mental illness, racism, and greed.

(36,828 posts)Franklin Graham and his ilk are CBR - Cash Based Religion.
Judas was an early, modern-day, conservative disciple.
Judas got 30 pieces of silver, but just once, for selling Christ.
Pat Robertson, Franklin Graham and their ilk get millions of dollars repeatedly for selling Christ.
Judas was a fool for doing a one-time sale.

(3,417 posts)As an athiest, I just can not understand the frame of reference for those who claim to know the absolute truth based on mythical characters invented by bronze-aged nomads (at least in western culture).
There has always been a great deal of money and power available to those who exploit the fear of the unknown. Religious prophets since the Zoroastrians have clung to power and the powerful in a profitable alliance.
I am astonished that mythology and delusion have such a prominent role in our culture. While I applaud the charitable efforts made by many in the name of their spiritual beliefs, I seethe when I think of the unwelcome intrusion that religion makes in my daily life. I have absolutely NO PATIENCE for the wealth accumulated by these "Prosperity Preachers" at the expense of their naïve flock of followers.
