Michigan State Capitol: No incidents; no arrests

As of 3 p.m., there were no violent incidents nor arrests at the Capitol, Lansing Mayor Andy Schor said, as almost all protesters had already left the building and its surrounding area. U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin said the lack of activity, despite the expectations of a larger crowd, was by design.

"Take it from someone who was at the (U.S.) Capitol when we did not do enough ahead of time to prepare," Slotkin said. "You want to be over-prepared, not under-prepared, and that takes work."

Members of Michigan State Police put away their riot gear shortly after 4 p.m.
