SPECIAL TRANSITIONAL TOWN HALL -- SUNDAY, 17 January, 7pm ET -- WITH DR. BANDY LEE and MEMBERS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH COALITION

The national nightmare of having a mentally unfit president is about to end, and the impeachment trial in the Senate could banish him from any possibility of further office. But before this happened, he was allowed to cause the deaths of more Americans than all terrorists and foreign enemies in the past 100 years combined, seriously damage our democracy, and left the country at the brink of civil war.
How could this have been permitted? How could the American political system so fail to protect us at the most basic level? Though our organization tried repeatedly to warn the Congress, the media, and the institutions of our country that catastrophic results could occur if this person was allowed to remain in office, we had very limited success. Only when this uncontained person became uncontrollable, fomenting violent insurrection in Washington in an attempt to stay in power by any means, did the mass media and Congressional leaders finally respond more forcefully.
Donald Trump will be leaving Washington in a few days, although we came far too close to another outcome. We must protect ourselves better from this kind of takeover by a dangerously disordered individual, capable of whipping up and manipulating an irrational following.
Dr. Lee was recently extensively interviewed by Bill Moyers, one of our nations most respected journalists and citizens. He stated he was giving her the last word. His excellent podcast is one hour long but a rich analysis of this entire presidency: https://billmoyers.com/story/podcast-bill-moyers-talks-with-dr-bandy-lee-about-the-dangerous-case-of-donald-trump/.
We must find formal ways to incorporate psychological insights into political discourse. This may involve, among other measures, disallowing abuses of psychiatric ethics, such as the Goldwater rule, strengthening the 25th Amendment to ensure that it could be usable when needed, instituting ways of screening the basic mental fitness of candidates, and helping ourselves to heal as a society.
At this Town Hall, we will discuss:
What comes next?
How can we apply the lessons of this presidency for future protection?
How can we find healing for our nation as a whole?
How shall we launch our own Truth and Reconciliation Commission?
Please join us this Sunday, 17 January, 7pm ET, for a special Town Hall where we can together grapple with the most critical issues of our time.
Also please visit Dr. Lees website, BandyLee.com, where many more media appearances, books, and writings have been collected and made available, as well as our organizational website at worldmhc.org.

(12,480 posts)Need to be seperated from people with other mental disorders.
Once a narcissist enters a psych hospital, a program or support group or runs one ,or becomes a staff ,everything goes to shit, people keep away ,get terrorized, hurt etc..
Dark triads need to be separated from society, especially from vulnerable people for safety reasons. They cannot be trusted. And they live to abuse others.
Something has to be done about dark triads in the psych system.

(12,480 posts)Unlike real mental illness ,that responds to meds and therapy...
Narcissists just get worse with therapy and become more skilled abusers.

(12,480 posts)Is it can be cured.
I don't think who you are your personality type will ever be cured
Narcissism, psychopathy and other dark triads are not curable.
It's not mental illness it's a personality type.
It's who they are.
And who you are is not
the same thing as a mental illness.
