Before Joe Biden takes office.

How about we just keep our mouths shut, and wait the 2 1/2 more days, and let them all be surprised AFTER binding orders are signed, ok???

Lawsuit recently filed doesn't seem to focus on environmental Impact statements which were not fully addressed from my understanding:

*Although, the pipeline’s proposed path crosses the plaintiff tribes’ homelands, the tribes have not been consulted as required by law and DOI policy.

*In granting the right-of-way, the BLM failed to analyze and uphold the United States’ treaty obligations to protect the Tribes lands and natural resources. The government failed to even evaluate an alternate route to avoids tribal treaty lands.

*The government’s analysis does not meaningfully address how an influx of out-of-state construction workers will affect the health, welfare, and safety of tribal members, and in particular Native women and children.

*The agencies have not considered the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on either health and safety or the global oil markets.

*The 2019 supplemental environmental impact statement has numerous issues and shortcomings. Even its maps do not give enough detail to show impacts on Indian lands.

*In their permit application, TransCanada agreed to abide by tribal laws and regulation, which they have failed to do.

Hurray.

More good news. Addtionally... I wrote to the Alaska interior authorities per request from the Sierra Club.
Only two small oil companies showed up for the auctioning off of the Alaska national wildlife refuge. It was a bust.
They said oil companies were discouraged by pressure from environmentalists. Can you believe that? That is the first
pro-environment objection that I have made that has ever panned out. The polluters almost always win.
Are things changing for the environment?

with everything going on i honestly forgot about this.......... drumpf, of course, has been forcing through permits. sounds like construction began in 2020 and was halted by SCOTUS in July 2020. Hopefully this ends this nonsense for all time. building this damn pipeline is more about "sticking it" to people who support green energy than anything else. in 2020 building this thing makes about as much sense as breeding leeches for medical treatment.
