Points to ponder

1. So the GOP is arguing against impeachment based on the process. You can't try him after he is out of office. This argument is aimed squarely at the knuckle draggers and mouth breathers. I will bet anything none of the GOP senators think he's innocent

2.The GOP opposed to impeachment are fundamentally cowards. They fear their base will take their jobs away. They fear the criminal will find a way to say something nastay about them. What they need to be are good parents who will give their manbaby the correctional lesson he deserves. But they won't. They are morally deficient and, as said, they are cowards.

3. A blowjob between consenting adults in an anteroom The Oval is an impeachable offense but plotting to, quite literally, overthrow the government of this nation . . . . . not so much.

4. 86-or-however-many court challenges, many in front of new Mitch McConnell anointed Federalist Society storm troopers, found not an iota of grounds to revisit the election outcome yet good neighbor Randal Howard Paul thinks we need to at least hear the facts. As he says this, his Senate clones vacantly nod yes in agreement. Sure Randal Howard Paul knows better. Surely so do they. But hey. One more cut at the ball. Its four strikes, not three, right? Right?

And 5: How fucked are we? Really.

1. He was Impeached while in office. Trial is up to Senate. Precedents abound, not with presidents, of course...

2. The GOP cowards created that monster and now fear it. They should be chased around the ice floes by Magats for all eternity.

3. The GOP cheapened Impeachment to the point Democrats did not Impeach GWB for his war crimes. They threatened to Impeach Obama daily for dressing better and dancing better and being smarter and more handsome, too.

4.Rand Paul would not recognize a fact if it moved in next door and kicked his ass. The fact is there is no evidence of fraud.

Good lord they are dumb.

Not considered much at all but is a major factor. I saw it coming back when Clinton's impeachment was first being formulated. And W confirmed it for me and 2016 made me dread the future. So here we are with the natural result of that political move to end impeachment and special prosecutors by cheapening the process.

They can convict which will split the party and relegate them the sidelines for a decade or more. The downside to this outcome is a fair sized part of their bloc may find they are better off under a democratically ruled government and find
that full "socialism" is not evil or likely as a fast outcome.

Or

They can acquit which will absolutely signal their intention to obstruct Biden which will force democrats to eliminate the filibuster and then face the same outcome but as a "united" party dedicated to a failed would be Mussolini and sit on the sidelines as America is repaired and improved.

My belief is the old mid-election tropes will be overturned in either case-neither the house or senate is likely to change control. All that is required is full truth and transparency and economic improvement for the lowest 50% of the country. That done and the GOP becomes a worthless appendage.

The rest stood but are still mostly cowards. But the majority are traitors, and we have excellent reason to believe a majority of senate Republicans would have also voted to turn the U.S. into an authoritarian state run by them if they thought they'd win.

But Democrats controlled the house and along with the military, judiciary, press, and majority of the people protected democracy from them.

So, they're fucked. We win. On this one, even if they manage to keep Trump from being found guilty when the entire nation knows he is, and they are, they're fucked.
