From The BBC In Pictures: Protecting the last wild lions in Africa...

British photographer George Logan documents the "natural beauty, drama and raw ferocity" of wild lions in Africa.

This is an interesting and informative assembly of text, unretouched and conceptual photos. Enjoy!

"Most people would marvel at just a glimpse of a lion in the wild.

"With the simple pull of a trigger, the trophy hunter removes all that beauty and wonder in an instant.

"For what?"

My take as well. Poaching and big game hunting must be wiped from the earth.

But how the hell are they getting licenses to hunt what appears to be an endangered species (or at least dying out in the wild)? They need to enlist the local people as other successful wildlife preservation programs have done in the past.

the income derived from the exploitation of hunting animals is a deciding factor in continuing this destructive

9. We used to see Scarface when Wild Earth was livestreaming drives in Kenya, a few years back

Didn't see him last year but they talked about sightings.

A photo of Scarface is one thing, but seeing him on foot and on the hunt, in real time, was a magnificent sighting.

They aren't in Kenya, right now, because of the rains but they go back for the migration season. Again, seeing documentaries of the great migration is pretty exciting but watching it in real time - breathtaking. It's highly recommended viewing.
