Question to politicians: what is your desire?

I recently heard a segment on NPR about a female writer putting information together for writing a book. She asked Democratic politicians “what is your desire?” The Democratic politicians answered “to get elected” she then asked a group of Republican politicians the same thing. Their answer? “To move America as far to the right as possible.” She then asked if she should really publish that and they said yes.
There you have it: the GOP is now full of right wing ideologues.

1. Neither answer is all that encouraging. My question for them is "Do you have grandchildren?"

"Do you think, after you are gone, they will be better off in a just and peaceful country, or in a country where their deceased grandparents had lots of clout and money?"
