1. I went to one of his shows (free ticket from the HR guy at work who's also a friend)

And it was a shitshow. I left early.

It was all both-siderism, where Obama, Pelosi and Liz Warren were as hated as Trump ... but he (and the crowd) loved Bernie (fine by me) and ... TULSI (ewwww), presenting the latter as being an extremely progressive person. The Russian investigation was ridiculed repeatedly.

Not my cup of tea at all.

2. Jimmy's older brother Miles has a better sense of humor

The Dore brothers grew up about half a mile from me on the SW side of Chicago between Midway Airport and the Stevenson Expwy (I-55). One of my best friends knew the brothers well, and says Miles has the sharper wit. I never met Jimmy, but I did hang with Miles occasionally.

4. I don't think Dore is far left

He is a reactionary that hates The Squad. Look at the comparison to how he treats Democrats compared to Trump. He is regularly invited on Tucker Carlson to bash the Democratic Party.

I think he is grifting his audience. His show is full of misinformation so one of his biggest concerns is "censorship" and was upset Trump got his Twitter account banned.

What Dore did is very dangerous. The far-right militias are usually forced to recruit in right wing circles but Dore exposed them to a left wing audience.
