Did you know that Facebook may be stalking you?
The social media network is keeping track of your online activity, even after youve closed out of the app, thanks to a feature called, Off-Facebook Activity.
Whether youre scouring Google Maps, Safari, playing a game on your phone, etc., Facebook may be taking note. But, dont panic, as there is a way to fix it with just the flip of a switch. Or an online switch at that.
How to turn off Off-Facebook Activity
From your phone, go into Settings and Privacy. Then, select Settings.
From there, scroll down until you see Your Facebook Information and select Off-Facebook Activity.
If you want to turn off the setting, tap More Options and Manage Future Activity. Youll then be prompted to select Manage Future Activity again, and from there, tap the switch to off, next to Future Off-Facebook Activity. Then youre all set!
If you want to clear the history thats already been stored, just return to the Off-Facebook Activity screen and select Clear History.

(20,692 posts)On a samsung, it's not that simple. You have to do it through facebook.
Settings-privacy shortcuts-view or clear your off facebook activity. Not in phone settings.
I got to "Manage off-facebook activity" and turned it off and the notification said it will still get all of my activity from the places I visit. I just won't be able to see the list anymore.
So, unless samsung has a deal different from yours, you are incorrect. Sorry.

(4,544 posts)Yes, the settings are in Facebook, not the phone. For me, it all worked just as described. I also didn't get a notification about Facebook still being able to track me. Can you post the what it says? Thank you.
