Nexstars WGN America will rebrand itself 'NewsNation' as of March 1 when the cabler expands its volume of daily newscasts to five hours a day. The move is another commitment from Nexstar to turn WGN America into a full-fledged news channel.
Rebranding WGN America as NewsNation underscores the networks clearly defined mission of delivering fact-based and unbiased news, while making it easier for viewers to find this new informative source for news, said Sean Compton, president of Nexstars networks division.
At the same time, expanding our news programming to five hours Monday through Friday will extend the networks reach and the depth of its news content across more weeknight time periods, delivering viewers more national news and regional stories from across the U.S., as well as coverage of the days most important issues.

(5,229 posts)their fun morning news. Went on all a.m. They gave out the news, but had all kinds of local stories and interviews. A happy group of people welcome into my home. Very little political discussion. I miss it.

(36,745 posts)They are broadcast over the air for free and the reruns they air make a lot of the cable channels redundant.
