https://www.epicunivers.com/new-planet-nasa/?fbclid=IwAR1nslVEHkXQu4NTeXJ5dQIJTnnd3Um3LcGSjU0FvTL_0_j1auEUyK81FNABecoming an intern at NASA itself isnt easy. Now, imagine discovering a brand new planet just three days into the internship. Although it seems impossible, thats exactly what this talented 17-year-old did.
Wolf Cukier is a high-school student from New York. To start his internship, he joined NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, back in 2019. There, Cukiers job was examining variations in star brightness captured by NASAs Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).
The teenager was able to discover a new planet, now known as TOI 1338b, on his third day of internship. This planet is located in a system that is 1,300 light-years away from Earth.
