The GOP is at it's obstructionist best again, and the Dems should let them fix it.
Here's how the GOP can get everything it wants...
Pass the entire CoVid Relief Bill as only Dems want it.
A 100% Dem written Relief Bill with everything only the Dems want.
It will pass the House.
The Senate can get to that expected 50/50 vote.
Then every Trump supporting American, including the GOP's multi-phobic treason-loving elected bastards,
can 'eat crow' watch a woman get the final say.
She could, if she chooses to, personally take that Bill over to the White House for the simple signature to enact it into law.
Unity is offered and presented to the GOPs. Just a little later than they'd like.
Then, the Dems can let the GOP start 'fixing/amending/screwing it up' it, after it's passed.
...After checks are all sent out and cashed.
...After all 50 states have spent all the new money needed for healthcare.
...After we have taken the immediate step to stop more Americans from dying.
...After we have helped most businesses from closing their doors.
...After we have let the world know, the traitors are no longer in control.
Time to quit playing nice with the group who will never understand anything but, "our way or the highway".
We'll just put their highway exit just a bit further down the road.

(639 posts)It's pretty damn clear to not get along, or bargain.
It's in the part with the 100% Dem words.
My post, does however let the GOP start from scratch....after the fact...to bargain or whatever you want to call it.
They can add any amendments in a bargaining thing, as new stand-alone legislation.

(26,732 posts)Because thats what it would take. 100% of the Dems would have to agree on the substance... and 100% would have to agree on the strategy of going it alone.
You may be unfamiliar with the characters involved or how narrow our margins are... but your strategy is unlikely to come to pass. Theres already at least one Democratic senator that isnt onboard. And one is all it takes.

(639 posts)Dems can intimidate it's members just as well as GoPee'rs can.
Campaign money always seems to let them 'see the light'.
The one elected who is opposing, is just suggesting how they'll vote.
Until the bill is written, is on the table and getting a floor vote, his remark is just a suggestion.
The vote is what counts, and that has to happen to see if this member is a liar. Or one whose mind changes like the weather.
I'm sure his phones, emails, twitters etc are all getting 'suggestions' from the district's constituents.
I'm sure you'll agree, the important 'characters' are those who are in desperate need of immediate assistance.

(26,732 posts)His district constituents are heavily red.
Theres no way to threaten him... he holds all the cards. We cant primary him.
Nor is there any guarantee that hes the only one. The VPs trip to Arizona makes that clear.
IMO - the current spin (along with threatening to use reconciliation) is an attempt to keep them on the reservation as long as possible while we Pres for the best compromise we can get it off a few republicans. They dont anticipate getting the current package through.
