2. Elections happen every year across the nation

Elections happen. Every year.

We manly focus on the big ones; the four year Presidential, but we have the two-year terms for Congress and within those four years we have state Governors, state Senates, Assemblies, etc...and the tens of thousands of local mayors, school boards, etc.

I would like to see DU add a Forum just devoted to elections that are coming up, say within 3 or 6 months, listed for states with the deadlines for registrations, early voting, voting by mail. Many voters found, in Nov 2020 that these deadlines were discovered very late and many didn't have all the options they could have. Absentee / Mail Voting is going to be shortened in GOP controlled states and to be able to use mail voting, may require getting your ballot up to a month prior to election date and having to return it weeks before the election.

7. Clarification

February 11th by 5 pm is the last opportunity to request absentee ballot. Whether mail delivery would get it to you in time is another issue.
