(1,368 posts)toilets or low flow shower heads. Why stick to permits when you have promised those things to your building tenants. Did they ever ask any questions?

(79,302 posts)The attorney generals office has asked for the maximum penalty: $50,000 each for two violations, and an extra $10,000 for each day the violations persisted. In theory, that could add up to more than $12 million in fines. But people familiar with the case said that fines in such circumstances were rarely that high.
Trumps company and his attorney did not respond to questions about the case Friday. In the past, Trumps company has called the suit politically motivated, and said that the state has given other violators a break when they missed similar deadlines.
A spokeswoman for Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul (D) said Raouls office was pleased with the judges ruling, but that this does not conclude the litigation.
We will continue to seek to hold the defendants accountable for violations of Illinois environmental laws that jeopardized the quality of the Chicago River, said the spokeswoman, Annie Thompson.
The lawsuit against Trumps hotel was filed in 2018, under Raouls predecessor, Lisa Madigan (D).
