The smoke and BS is strong right now.
Blaming random democrats for things the maga mob is being caught doing.
Nitpicking many hypocritical things they let slide when their cult did it, but manufacturing smaller version of those things and attaching it to democrats.
Saying they can't speak their mind because they are called names.
Still unable to produce any facts.

(32,626 posts)who was a cop, and used to bring his mother jokes that he got over the teletype at work. Had to be the 70's, I was pretty young. Never saw one of them, so I'm guessing they were pretty bad.

(6,252 posts)Had a wwg1wga bumper sticker. I told him that concerned me. He told me not to call him back.
The guys who came after him were told in no uncertain terms that if they were also q people they could just skip the charade and move on.
They assured me they werent so they will likely be hired.

(4,402 posts)My uncle hasn't said a word about politics since the 6th of January. My cousin was whining on Facebook about how he couldn't find anywhere to "express his views without being profiled" a few days later but hasn't said anything else since.
I'm sure they both still see themselves as victims of censorship instead of deluded cult followers and enablers - as if people shaming them for saying shameful things is the real problem.

(13,924 posts)the stupid leaks out. One guy won't get a laser thermometer reading on his forehead. Lasers damage the "big blood vessel" in your brain..Use my wrist.Limbaugh told him...
The other guy swears that tRump did nothing wrong. I ask about the infidelity and lies....... crickets.. Quick subject change by him.. If a bunch are together talking "tRump shit" I just don't jump in.. They just want to debate with you the merits of this that and the other thing and you are not gonna change their minds anyway so what is the point. They will drag you down to their level of stupid and beat you with experience... nope not falling for that...

(6,692 posts)I live in a senior village. One of those places with memory care all the way to independent apartments and cottages with garage. We have 8% of the independent units set aside for low income seniors but most people have at least a little money aside.
I don't feel comfortable having any political conversations anymore. Early on, I thought it was the fact some of these folks really do have some challenges. But then as I started see it from people who can't blame being 90+, or dementia, or chemo brain etc, then I realized it is just the garden variety gullible fall for anything stupid. It is the same bunch who fall for the "car warranty" phone calls.

(100,100 posts)I posted this in another thread but I live in a very MAGA neighborhood and yesterday during our weekly meeting, things got really uncomfortable. Here's what happened:
During our weekly meet up yesterday, the conversation shifted to Eric Garcetti and one of my neighbors just blurts out "Oh yeah he's funded by George Soros!". And then he starts just trash talking San Francisco and California in general. I just wanted to say "Oh yeah? If you hate California so much then what are you doing living here?".
Even worse the conversation drifted towards education and then all kinds of conspiracy theories about teaching kids gender identity and sex education opened up and things started really getting uncomfortable. Then they brought up the conspiracy theory (I'm sure Alex Jones is behind this one) about male athletes "identifying as" female athletes so they could win competitions. At that point I had to make an excuse and leave.
Oh and at one point one of my neighbors - who I am pretty sure is a raging hardcore racist, said that he was boycotting the Super Bowl because of the NFL's stance on supporting Black Lives Matter. And during the sex talk, he says to his wife - "they just approved this and you won't hear CNN say it because they are afraid of reporting this!"
Yeah I got to find a new place to live.

(34,086 posts)The school where I teach had everything under control with masks (everyone wearing one, and wearing one properly - since anyone not complying was told their option was to mask up or take classes online), no one eating outside of the designated areas, no one sitting in the study rooms unmasked.
Now we get snarled at for asking them to put their masks on, they are eating all over, and sitting in the study rooms unmasked.
My daughter is also encountering more customers itching for a fight at Starbucks. She walked out on one who refused to back up the other day.
