The rioters pushed the Capitol police to the point where they could no longer control the rioters without using lethal force.

At some point, it was going to happen. I very, very rarely would use the term "that person was asking for it" but with what they were doing, it was only a matter of time before someone got shot.

A month later - why more were not shot and or killed.

Every time I see these people - I imagine what would have happened if they had been in hijabs. Or in BLM t-shirts.

I want everyone treated the same. If they can't fix the 'bad apples' then treat everyone the same.

These are terrorists.

really running to safety way near the top left, then just a little bit later that person comes through window. Officer probably had to shoot, bc others would have come right through. It shocked the terrorists and slowed them down.

It’s funny: my assumption is that if I pulled shit like this I’d get shot. No question about it.

He did his job, did what he had to do, and now has to live with the decision. It was the right thing to do in the totality of the circumstances, but still a life was ended and another life ( the USCP Officers, is changed forever)

The small number of officers couldn't keep them out of the capital but they managed to keep the rioters from getting to anyone else.

I wasn't really so clear on that for the past month...just how it was that crowd didn't manage to kill or hurt one or more of the congresspeople or their staff.

Now I understand - their main effort that was was keeping the rioters from getting to their prey.

She could have undone the barriers and let them all in. And whether we like it or not, her getting shot stopped the animals in their tracks and likely saved many innocent lives. Babbitt was not innocent and he made the right choice.
