I'm afraid I might be accused of child abuse. They honestly make fun of me for using facts in arguments. When I point out they're using their opinions to argue against facts I'm providing links to, they (yes, there's more than one of them, tho thankfully the one who does Tarot Card readings for a living just deleted all my arguments and may've unfriended me) they accuse me of being a sucker for the "corporate press".
If I had a bar to go to or a group art project to get involved with my life would be more fruitful. But I just can't ignore people posting memes and calling them facts.

(57,073 posts)They are uneducable.
Facts are inconvenient for them, so they ignore & deny.

(12,618 posts)And if you really want to get under their skin, call them Trump ass lickers. I've found they really hate that one, since they like to fancy themselves such free thinkers. They really hate to be that they're just brain dead cult followers. And never forget to remind them that you base your opinions on facts and science, and that they should try it sometime.

Arguing with dumbheads is not worth the breath it takes.

(12,693 posts)They don't care what you think, they live in their own world where they are the noble hero makers and everyone else who disagrees with them are either unenlightened or takers.
They can be clever, hard working, and cultivate "virtues" that allows their patronage to garner them social brownie points, but ultimately, they are selfish and shallow. They won't admit they may be wrong unless faced with overwhelming and totally engulfing proof of wrongness, and even then, they will come up with a lame excuse to justify their original flawed premise.
Sorry, Libertarianism is the viewpoint of the perpetual teenager.

(25,929 posts)I've adopted the "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all" thing my mother taught me. Honestly, about three quarters of what people post I find incredibly annoying, which probably says a whole lot more about me than about them or their posts.
I have unfriended the very few right-wingers I used to be friends with. I have extremely high privacy settings, which also helps. I also finally learned that if some acquaintance from my past sends me a friend request, to take a look at their page. That has saved me a lot of grief.

(42,024 posts)Is a libertarian. If dumb was peanut butter you could spread him on bread. Hes an abusive loser asshole with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
On the other hand I also have a bright, articulate friend who is also a libertarian and we agree to disagree, and find points of commonality regarding things like war and womens bodily autonomy.
In general, I find libertarians to usually be more like the former than the latter.
