The plan was established in 2010 and applied to people 55 then(who were born in 1955).

I have health care and retirement, but I saw how well my father was treated with Medicare when he died. I don't want no stinkin' voucher!

about 10K a year (beyond living expenses, and beyond regular savings/investments) to have the money to pay the difference.

Why is that not part of the discussion? How much annually people need to have set aside/invested annually who are 50, who are 45, who are 40, who are 35 etc. How many people can find an extra net savings of 10K a year?

I would never have thought to go on the dole, as my Irish Grandfather would say.

It took my doctor to convince me that I was not going to get better before I applied for Disability.

Sure, I have gotten more than I put in, but both my mom and dad paid a lot more in than they ever received.
