Is it a civil suit? I hope so! I don't think a pardon would apply, but I'm not a lawyer. LaMouffette Mar 2021 #19
Yes, it is a civil suit filed by a private individual. It is not an indictment. 33taw Mar 2021 #20

Trump sues people at the drop of a hat (or the loss of an election). I can't wait to witness the avalanche of civil suits that will now rain down upon him.

Server: "Are you Donald J Trump?"
Trump: "Yes, I am Donald J Trump."
Server: Hands Trump a #10 Envelope. Says, "You've been served." (Immediately turns to leave. His job is done.)
Trump: Opens #10, (or has caddy/lawyer/Guilliani-styled character do it for him.)
Trump: "I've been served."
Server:
(In thoughtful retrospective mode, cause this if frigging awesome.)

Server: Nobody gonna believe this

It's my memory and what a great one to have.

America is jealous of that single process server's claim to fame.

I have tried and tried to imagine Trump being served a subpoena while residing at Mar a Lago but for the life of me I couldn't see how in the world that could happen at his resort-fortress.

It never occurred to me there was a way to formally serve notice of a lawsuit through registered mail. I'm not sure if that has equal value as a subpoena or not. But hell, it's better than a freaking poke in the eye.
