(8,200 posts)I can only hope that I can live long enough to see the total destruction of this fascist blight on America. I truly have grown to actually despise every damn one of these brainless morons. I hope every damn one of them who have fought against taking the necessary precautions to protect their fellow citizens get COID-19. Every damn one of these dregs of society is a racist bastard and this is the basic thing unites them. All the other crap they spew is totally bullshit to cover their basic hatred and White Nationalistic goals to suppress the minorities.

(82,849 posts)Something Democrats definitely need to improve on is repeating themselves. Conservative outlets never tire of peddling their nonsense, and it get internalized over time. We need to hit folks with the litany of the good things Democrats have done for them. We have to get over our reticence or modesty or whatever it is the stops us from reminding people what we've done.
"Oh, everybody knows who did away with denials of coverage for pre-existing conditions!" No, everybody doesn't know that. And they'll forget who put that extra money in their pocket this year if we don't remind them. Republicans are already trying to take credit for it, even though not one of them (just like the Affordable Care Act) voted for it.

(58,785 posts)all but the most reasonable cons will be angry because their party let the liberal party get credit.
Has to be. Approval of Democratic action would conflict with their now deeply entrenched politics of victimhood and grievance. That spin on their fear and anger from big changes they didn't choose is the justification for the culture warring most'd now do anything to win.
This will hopefully turn up the dribble of wobblies away from the GOP, firm up some indies, a bit, though.

As Fox falls from favor so then does QOP support from the "fly-over" masses. It's almost as if there's a connection.

(19,082 posts)People will wonder why because this bill is already so popular, but Joe knows the relentless attacking of the bill is just starting with the GOP and their news network. Anything that doesn't go perfectly will be seized upon and they will work endlessly to turn people against the bill.
Problem for the GOP is that the economy is primed to absolutely take off right now and in 8 months when Covid is behind us and we're seeing record growth and record job creation, that they're going to have an even tougher task of painting it as a failure.

(10,030 posts)Which is laughable given that American Airlines immediately cancelled all its layoffs and economists increased their growth projections to 7.3% for the year as soon as the Senate passed the bill.
McConnell said there would be a boom. I wonder what he will say caused the boom since hes already said that the stimulus will have nothing to do with it. We should have a contest here for the loony theories Republicans will come up with to explain how they created the booming economy!

If they don't change their voting habits, things will go back to what they were when this blows over. I believe that asshole Senator from Mississippi is crowing about how much the Rescue plan will do for the people while conveniently leaving out the part where he voted against it.
Dems need to keep hammering this point: Every fucking repub voted against the relief package. Every. Fucking. One. Of. Them. And they (we) need to start pounding on that drum right now.
