Return to normalcy

I know we have a long way to go and there will be a new normalcy, but lately (finally) I’ve felt like things were getting back on track. I haven’t got my shot yet but sure I will very soon and be able to go go out and do things I haven’t for over a year. It feels like we have a functioning federal government after years of efforts to dismantle it. It even seems like the RWNJs are spreading their rancor less, or maybe people are finally getting tired of hearing it. So, while we have a long way to go I have a more optimistic attitude than I’ve had for well over a year, probably several.

I drove him to school this morning, he came out of the building with a huge smile on his face. He got in and gave me a big kiss and said "now I can teach without fear of getting it, or bringing it home to you". It is amazing how it makes you feel once you have had both shots. Yes, I think we are getting back to normal a bit.

I can start doing a few things now:

See my daughter.
Catch up on routine medical appointments.
Get my hair done.
Go to the grocery store.
Drink coffee on the patio with my neighbor.

I will be so happy to do these things again.
