Nice. LisaL Mar 2021 #1
Yes, it's automatic with a blood donation. phylny Mar 2021 #12
I'd want that pint if I were in hospital and unvaccinated! roamer65 Mar 2021 #2
I'm AB+ so they are always calling me to donate. phylny Mar 2021 #13

Yeah. Those who have the nucleocapsid antibodies can give convalescent plasma. roamer65 Mar 2021 #4
Now the advice is to skip the plasma and use monoclonal antibodies. lagomorph777 Mar 2021 #5
True. roamer65 Mar 2021 #6
I got the Pfizer vaccine on 2/26, donated on 3/2 rurallib Mar 2021 #7

That is what I was thinking. 2nd dose is 3/19. Next donation is 3/30. rurallib Mar 2021 #9
Ten days after the second dose of Pfizer should be full immunity. LisaL Mar 2021 #10

They can tell you have had the vaccine, and have not had the disease.

Vaccinated folks it doesn’t quite work, from what I read.

and I signed up for the anti-body testing.

I got a note last Friday that I showed none.
The note said that is not unusual, but I expected something.

It takes a while for antibodies to develop. Test a week after your second dose, you should have antibodies by then.

So presumably should be a lot of antibodies by that time.

next week, so a numerical value, though they don’t know yet what it means in context. Want some baseline though since I have cancer and hope to track my anti-bodies for when it has more meaning. Wish I had asked for one before my 1st dose so to compare. That’s what they’re doing at UCSF for volunteers with my cancer and hopefully soon will know more. I had a reaction to my 2nd one though, fever and fatigue for a few days and was so happy. I have an immune system!
