our elected officials. I do not get it. This should come before infrastructure or anything else after the 1.9 covet relief bill. I am glad he ,Rachael, and others is talking about it. I am with Joe when he is putting it out there for this should be DEm's next bill. One talking head said to get this in gear-work on changing the filibuster. He talks about this bill more then any Democrat I have seen do. I honesty agree that this should be top priory.
Give Machin and Senna or whatever her name is,what they want to modify the FB and get this signed into law pronto. I feel if this were GOQ they would be on this the moment they passed the tax cut. We may not get another chance with all the rigging these states are doing to hold power and make sure we never get in power again. They have Trump pulling their strings behind the scenes. I saw somewhere that Trump said, they will win big.As well as he misses being President. They are trying to give him power for life and them to keep power themselves. As long as they pick and choose whom they want to count the ballots, we are done. If we do not move now,it is going to be too late. My fear is the older ones in our party could be checked out.No offense to the older senators, but our party is not getting any younger. Why do you think Trump is putting Sarah Palin out there to run for Senate? I feel we need to move now or we are going to be history. Look at Ruth B on the SC and how she died before the next election. We do not have time on our side I feel. I pray this post do not offend anyone,if so than I apologize now. Also my spell check is not working for me, so please excuse my spelling.

(65,167 posts)Better than we do because he WAS our enemy. I would still like to go after him, no holds barred, on his "small government" crap. It doesn't even make any sense when applied to our government structure and was used as a front for the out and out racism of the repuke party over the years.

(6,307 posts)....concerning small government, but his robust endorsement of Joe Biden policies, including the covid relief bill, seems to be a signal that he may be evolving. I know of some Democrats views I have more of a problem with than Joe Scarborough's. What I don't mind doing is calling someone to task because they have taken his statements completely out of context in order to score a few brownie points with fellow Scarborough haters. There are times when I relish it. My only disappointment is that none of my rebukes have ever elicited an answer. Ever. Crickets.
Sorry it took so long to reply. I've been a little out of pocket all day.

(65,167 posts)I have noticed that they always change the subject. My hunch is that Joe S. had that finally dawn on him. I'm sure he started noticing that his pettiness (that of his party) was getting thoroughly trashed by liberals in the media. If you just talk to people who talk like you, you will never learn anything. Maybe Joe just got tired of the same ole routine.

(6,307 posts)I have heard him mention more than a few times that some of the things he believed and said back in the day are things he regrets. I like him now because I believe he has really changed, just as I like Steve Schmidt for the same reasons. These two people can tell some truth that a lot of Democrats would be hard-pressed to top.

Think about it: over 2M employees in the executive branch alone, president, 15 cabinet-level agencies, dozens and dozens of other federal agencies, all headed by people who'd be top executives in industry and staffed with tens of thousands of top experts in their fields, including the judiciary...
The For the People Act that we're about to do battle in the senate to pass would obviate many of these attacks on voting rights. Huge action. HISTORIC LEGISLATION. By us. Big discussion right now. What to do about the filibuster?
And don't forget that most of the other battles to smash other attacks on voting rights will take and years to win. We can't be sitting on our fingers, refusing to enlarge our ports, expand healthcare, contain China, while waiting for a law to be passed so we can then start the legal battle to have it set aside.
