...marries an arrogant, officious jerk.
That was 41 years ago, today.
We're still married!

(65,227 posts)Actually we're the best of friends.
She's by far the best friend I've ever had. I'm thinking I'm fairly high on her list too! LOL!
Due to COVID, we still haven't celebrated our 40th.
But, after her COVID shot today, we're doing surf & turf at home. Bought lobster tails yesterday. Going to butcher market (yep, we have one in town here) for filets this morning.
Sides haven't been decided.

(65,227 posts)...was also a dancer (community ballet) and married a musician.
But, music was a paid hobby for me.
Played 40-100 shows a year from 1976 to 2008 or 9. From around 1982 until the end we averaged around 80.
Interesting parallels!
BTW: I've been busy recording covers of some rock tunes. Keep an eye open in Musicians' for when I post a link.
I'm waiting for a Behringer A/D (on backorder) so I can master to MPEG. I've got 3 done so far.

It's a high of 36 today. Drizzle with possible flurries.
41 years ago, it was 68 & sunny.
She didn't even wear a coat over her wedding dress.
On Edit, a fun story I think you'll like.
In our early dating days, I told her I was a musician & singer. About our third date, we're going to a disco & "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire comes on the radio.
I sang along, including the Phillip Bailey part. As the song ends, she says "Oh, you're a REAL singer!"
I knew there was something I liked about her! 😁

(42,290 posts)Well...he played guitar, anyway. And did get paid for it a couple of times. I ended up doing more of the performing over the years but he still gets the attention (it's his terrific mustache that draws folks now!)
Always best to marry a friend.

(2,040 posts)We will celebrate 41 years of marriage in May. Everyone said it wouldn't last. Now everyone is divorced and we are still going strong! So much for conventional wisdom!

(65,227 posts)Double baked potato with butter & park & asparagus. I might make a wine & butter sauce for the latter.

(65,227 posts)But, they're a lot more work. Par cooking, peeling, cutting out the hearts, then finishing the cook! That's 30 minutes.
Asparagus is 2 minutes! The sauce (if I make it) is the same.
