(57,073 posts)Are you signed up for CDC's V Safe post-vax reaction tracker?
Smart phone required & only takes about 1 min to complete brief survey daily for a week.

(21,852 posts)I didn't sleep well that night. The next day my arm hurt so much that I didn't want to use it to reach for things, lift things, etc. I fell asleep in the afternoon for about 30 minutes.
When I woke up today, my arm was much better, practically back to normal. I am still a little tired but not like yesterday.
Whew! The vaccine is a doozy.

(9,080 posts)I found that I needed to do a side stretch where you raise your arm over your head and lean to the opposite side of where you got the injection. Side bends.
Like this...
https://gethealthyu.com/exercise/standing-side-bend/
Then move your arm forward and down when you are bent to the side using the gravity as an advantage to flex the muscle deeper. Think of a cat with a straight arm trying to clean behind its ear. LOL.
Also when your arm is raised bend it at the elbow behind your head and try to touch the opposite shoulder. It provides deep stretching.
My shoulder hurt the most while sleeping but when I got up it was fine until I tried to reach upward. So I did my stretches, pushing through the pain and it relieves it for a while. It's way better now. I only felt mildly tired today.
Quick note: this may only work if your shot is delivered high up on your arm near the top of the deltoid.
