From his interview with Politico:
Clyburn knows how critical the voting rights bill is, that it’s not some “puffed up” piece of political strategy, that it is essential to protect Dems majorities and to protect democracy itself.
Clyburn knows it
Schiff knows it
Schumer knows it
Klobuchar knows it
Durbin knows it
The entire progressive caucus knows it.
Obama knows it
Do you know how critical passage of HR1/SB1 is? That without passing it, which requires at the very least the modification of the filibuster so it can pass with 50 votes, Dems will lose their majorities, and the WH in 2024, for a decade or longer?
If you do know how critical the voting rights bill is, and how devastating the consequences of not passing it will be, smash the rec button (since I can’t create polls).

(11,052 posts)in the last few decades, if they get everything back again, we'll never get rid of them.
Not just election rigging and dirty tricks, but controlling the media, dark money, rightwing judges, all of it.
They won't give it up easily.

(11,601 posts)Start being very visible with the Dems organizing a movement to primary them. Maybe THAT will F'ing get them in line.
Their Self Aggrandizing ego maniacal 15 minutes of so called fame must be stomped in it's track........
It is bad enough that the Dems have to fight both the RepubliCON party AND Trump every minute of every day, but to have to fight some rouge Dems continually is pure BS......
It is obvious that Manchin aspires to be the McConnell of the Democrats..........
His voters should be dumping un-ending phone calls, letters and emails on his office and home doorstep.........It is a little hard to ignore thousands and thousands of first class letters being delivered daily to your home and office.
Same with Sinema..................

(7,090 posts)Or two if President Biden and the Democrats do what they say and get it done.
Mcturtle is frightened, because if the Democrats cease the power they've been elected to do, almost 80% agrees with their policies, it's just proving they will do it.
Breathe easy for the next four years, but talk to everyone about the issues. Magnify the Democratic props.

(11,945 posts)it's an example of how American democracy is teetering on a precipice as steep and narrow as any time since the Civil War. Watergate, the McCarthy hearings, any other point in US history you care to name - nope. Not any of those were as fraught as the present.
