Do Democrats EVER win pres debates according to the MSM?

I'm trying hard to remember when the media said you know what? This Democrat won. Period. Without this bs "draw" thing, without saying well, he had funny looks/sighed/other things that have nothing to do with substance......

Has that happened in modern times?

Maybe Bill Clinton?

I remember that first debate with Kerry. Dubya sucked big time. However, the "LIB-rul" media ignored his piss poor performance.

They did dispute the other two, but Kerry was the same guy in all of them where Bush was three different - but all weird - people in them. Not to mention, Kerry had encyclopedia like memory on every issue discussed - and the intelligence to understand the implications.

Kerry might be the only candidate who would have been greatly helped if there were weekly debates for all September and October. He was in his element and , other than the convention, it was the only TV time where people saw him unfiltered by the media. (I didn't see until I watched parts of the Senate floor debate on START where he was on the floor for hours countering every Republican objection with fact and good humor, that the debates were not a challenge for him.)

did they give obama wins over mclame? i remember the debates but not the media spin.

in any event, i agree, it's certainly far easier for a republican to be deemed the "winner". frankly the republican needs to self-destruct while the democrat is perfect in order for the democrat to be deemed the "winner".

not agreeing that Carter thrashed Reagan - but the media just loved Reagan's "There he goes again" comment. That became the narative of the debate and the media therefore proclaimed Reagan the inarguable winner of the debate. Reagan's performance against Mondale was so bad during their first debate that the going comment even from Reagan's people was, "well at least he didn't drool." Yet the media decided it was a draw. The media is simply going to give every benefit of the doubt to the Republicans and cut no slack for the Democrats. I guess that is what they think they have to do to avoid being accused of having a liberal bias. But no matter how much the media panders to the right - nothing ever dampens the accusation of liberal bias - nothing.

otherwise on the first debate.

Obama won some (all) of the debates with McCain - especially the town hall one where McCain at one point was wondering around the stage.
