It seems that every time any official of the Georgia state government is asked about it, from the Governor to the Secretary of State and others, they say it is not "suppression" but there are some things they did not agree with? If they did not agree with it, why is it in the new laws?
I think the answer may be sitting somewhere in Mar-a-Lago? We know that he disagreed with all the state officials about the vote count in the last election, which he lost. He is now proposing a challenger for the Republican Secretary of State, Raffensperger.
But why??
Could it have anything to do with the criminal charges pending from the election? Is someone trying to send a message to those in power in Georgia? Are they attempting to intimidate the elected officials of Georgia to do their bidding?
In my opinion, it is the state charges that Trump is most concerned with, not any Federal charges. (Even though that is the big elephant in the room. Sedition and inciting an insurrection.)
However, either Party would probably hesitate to bring any charges against any President or ex-President, for fear of doing great harm to our Republic. What will Merrick Garland do? The public sentiment would need to be on his side.
But, State Courts are not so prohibited. An independent Attorney General could decide to follow the law and let the people, through our jury system, make the decision? There are rumors that charges could come as early as next week?

I pray Trump gets slapped with election interference charges and subpoenaed. This has to get the attention of the DOJ as well. For Trump is not out of the clear yet.

(7,733 posts)and to pacify the immature babies in the Republican Party who cant accept the fact a huge majority of the Country cant stand them. The side benefit being to kiss Donalds ass and give him a little piece of cake to calm him down.
Republicans in the states that flipped Blue know their people are fuming mad and want revenge. These laws they are pushing are giving them a measure of that revenge.
T***p ushered in a whole new way of government and I think the days of moving on for the good of the country should end now. T***p needs to be crushed politically and legally and let the chips fall as they may.
