Wow. Walgreen's just totally screwed me with my COVID vaccine.

I got my first shot at Walgreens, 20 miles from my home as that was the first one I could get. Got the Pfizer, no problems. They scheduled my second shot closer to home, now 30 days from my first shot I am ready for my second today in 45 minutes. They just called to tell me after being on the schedule for 30 days, that they don't do the Pfizer, they only give the Moderna. Now they are trying to find somewhere for me to get my second dose. They said I have 41 days from the first shot to get the second one. This is extremely frustrating.

... if you're on a desktop computer that is. If you're on a phone I don't know if it provides a way to refresh. My point is that the status may change several times during the day. Somebody will cancel their appointment, or they'll get a new supply of vaccine that they didn't have a few hours ago. You never know.

At the very least check the sites daily. Early is better - like 6 a.m. or so, each day.

Forget what happened in January, by April most places will have plenty of shots to give out. Since you've already received your first hit, you'll be given preference for the 2nd one. The worst case scenario would be to go back to the Walgreen's that's 20 miles away. How bad could it be?

Good luck my friend!

dry up around here as our second dose came due, so I can understand how you're feeling. But as FakeNoose says, and you have lots of time because Pfizer's first dose can be followed up to 6 weeks later with the second.

I went to a customer service seminar once that said for every good thing that happens at a business you might tell a few people, but for every bad thing you tell lots of people!

... through Kroger!

She received her first shot at the far end of this county because it was the only opening, then she was scheduled at another Kroger that was much closer for the 2nd shot.

Except they didn't use the same vaccine manufacturer, and she was informed shortly before the scheduled 2nd shot that it was a no-go!

Sorry that it happened to you too!

She received the 2nd dose at an even closer Kroger about a week later.

... I couldn't get it BEFORE a certain date, and that ANYTIME after would be OK. This seems to be true, given the fact that there were serious discussions among public health professionals about postponing everyone's second vaccine for three months or more, until everyone had at least one. It might be a fight to get whoever came up with 41 days to agree, but there you are.
