Big businesses are starting to recognize republicans are really fascists,

And want them to be corrupt , or they will become targets, and hurt them if they aren't as corrupt as they are. trump and Moscow Mitch support becoming like what putin has done to Russian businesses , where only the most corrupt are allowed to prosper. Threats by trump and Moscow Mitch to big businesses will only help big businesses change who they've supported, and backed in the past.

to stay out of politics. I don't think Mitch realizes what he's saying right now. If corporations stay out politics, Mitch, you're not going to get those six and seven figure checks for the QOP anymore. Right now I think corporations are just fine with that, but somehow I don't think Mitch is going to like it when he realizes what he's done.

I've worked for multiple Fortune 500 Corporations in my 30 year career as an IT Consultant.

EVERY Damn one has REQUIRED me to take regular Diversity and Sexual Harassment Awaremess training courses in order to work for them - just like I was a permanent employee.

Their internal Corporate Cultures are steeped in these viewpoints now...from the bottom to the top. Yes, there are still exceptions, and racists and misogynists are still present - but their influence is muzzled and they usually don't stay employed for long.

So why is it a surprise to the QOP Racists that overall Corporations are coming forth and doing the right thing????

(On Edit: I've been a librul my entire life - working in the belly of the beast has been tough but I like to think I've helped to get some reforms done from the inside - like water trickling over a rock in a stream.)

and can ruin both corrupt business and anyone that they just decide to attack for the LOLs. It is too powerful in that it requires no proof to do its damage and little to no accountability for its actions. Of course, that power is from people who are buying into whatever their phone says without doing anything like critical thinking, research, or just stopping for a moment to consider what was said. It is a power that has to die, because it is a power that has no 'brain' behind it. It just swims around like a metaphorical shark, devouring and attacking whatever it happens to run into.

Just know that all it would take is one piranha to notice something you typed (or was just told you typed something that they decided to not like, regardless of evidence), take it out of context, and then the frenzy starts. It's basically a world-wide version of a shitty high school clique. (Sure, even shit has its uses, but I don't feel that is enough of a reason to dive into it.) I hope you never have to deal with it.

Americans is the realization by most that we are not dependent on the fossil fuel industry for our civilization. All the scientific warnings about how pollution from the burning of these hydrocarbons was imminent and world changing were out in the 70's. Big energy fought the facts successfully for almost 50 years because too many people lacked the imagination or faith in engineers to buy the notion that renewables were the future. That's not the case now.

We see and hear corporations mouthing platitudes about equality, diversity and freedom, then turning around and funding voter suppression or climate change denial on the QT. Even if individuals within the corporatocracy really hold and try to adhere to those principles, they won’t be allowed to in the long run. The only thing a corporation exists to do is to make as big of a profit as possible, period. The culture will do whatever it thinks it needs to do to fulfill that imperative.

If fascism makes more profit for some, and it does, that’s what those organizations will support.

Don’t expect anything else from them. Stay vigilant, keep the pressure on the corporate world and vote for stricter regulation of capitalism.

Just don’t expect the tiger to change its stripes.

People don't get that modern corporations are having ethics built into the business. They value things like diversity and integrity. Corporations are interested in being good citizens today. Modern business schools have been building that into future leaders for decades now.

Sure, there are still crappy corporations out there, and when push comes to shove, they are all interested in profits. But there's a very tangible move towards work life balance, diversity, integrity, community service, and sustainability. These values are built into business models now.

Companies dominated by one demographic are at a competitive disadvantage and are unable to response to threats and opportunities as readily.

"Jeesh, we all missed the signs that were there." is no surprise when you have a company run by people who all see the world the same way and from the same position. Diversity means strength, diversity means ability to respond to the market.

You know where the corporate elite thought that they could control a fascist.

Hindenburg, intimidated by Hitler’s growing popularity and the thuggish nature of his cadre of supporters, the SA (or Brownshirts), initially refused to make him chancellor. Instead, he appointed General Kurt von Schleicher, who attempted to steal Hitler’s thunder by negotiating with a dissident Nazi faction led by Gregor Strasser. At the next round of elections in November, the Nazis lost ground—but the Communists gained it, a paradoxical effect of Schleicher’s efforts that made right-wing forces in Germany even more determined to get Hitler into power. In a series of complicated negotiations, ex-Chancellor Franz von Papen, backed by prominent German businessmen and the conservative German National People’s Party (DNVP), convinced Hindenburg to appoint Hitler as chancellor, with the understanding that von Papen as vice-chancellor and other non-Nazis in key government positions would contain and temper Hitler’s more brutal tendencies.

Also, our fascist party just staged a failed coup. There was a brief upset in corporate america, major media was OUTRGAGED!!!!!, and now three months later the corporate donations are flowing again, the nazis have been re-nomralized by the media, and some of us here think 'big business' is going to save us.

Nobody is going to save us from fascism except us.
