(9,081 posts)There are simply far more older women than men. And when vaccination focus has been on that age group for the first several months, you're going to get statistics like this.
Sex ratios in America equalize around 30 years old, and every year past that sees more and more women compared to men.

(9,081 posts)We don't have hiring quotas or anything, but corporate wants us to be watchful of any obvious imbalance in hiring given local, regional, and national demographics.
Sometimes it's interesting. Sometimes much less so. Fortunately, the people in my office are very cognizant. We've only had one major incident where I had to personally step in. A department manager was pretty much blatantly only making internal promotions within her own racial group. Got that nipped in the bud awful fast.

(9,269 posts)Not just for this reason but...hes 35, healthy and fit, and has been exposed to COVID a number of times (my daughter and grandson had it last fall, among others) and is convinced hes immune. I told my daughter there will be no extended family gatherings until all adults are vaccinated. Shes a nurse and told me her lamebrained husband WILL be vaccinated.
