My husband and I met him years ago when he was in town for a speaking engagement. We met him at an Asian restaurant we used to go to where you pick your ingredients and they cooked it in front of you. Jack was in line behind me and a friend of mine and at first I couldn't place him. We saw him later chatting with customers and signing autographs and then it clicked for us who he was. He came to our table and talked with us for awhile and signed some autographs for us. He was nice.

He n his wife n associates have done so much for educating us about wildlife n conservation for endangered wildlife n marine life. He did it with humor n compassion.

I remember staying up late if he (or joan embry) was going to be on the Johnny Carson show, school the next day be damned. Some of the funniest moments around.

of my mom letting me stay up late to watch Johnny Carson because Jack Hanna was going to be on, and she and I both loved his appearances.
