The government website tells me that my stimulus funds would be electronically deposited into my account on March 24th. Just received my credit union statement for March - NOPE! Not there. Same for my husband. Anybody else run into this?

Go figure.

(51,627 posts)I couldn't even get put on hold when I called the IRS over and over. Finally, after two weeks I was able to be put on hold for 1 1/2 hours. The person told me that a $600 check was issued on Jan 6th (the day of the DC riots). I asked her to cancel it an issue a new one but they can't do that. She said they'll put a trace on it and send me a packet of forms to fill out within 4 weeks.
Then two weeks ago I got a credit card in the mail and it turned out to be a card issued by the IRS with my 3rd payment on the card ($1,400). I do not do direct deposit so I use the mail. If I got the first check for $1,200 in the mail last year.
So I ended up getting the 1st and 3rd but not the second. Also, I only got a letter regarding the 2nd, missing payment but no letter for the other two.
I am suspicious...this make no sense. Now for you to have gotten the same BS letter makes me more sure that the govt fucked up.
I do my own taxes since I am too poor to pay someone and I don't know how, or if, I can claim the missing $600 payment in my 2020 taxes.

(2,191 posts)You'll have to file the 1040 or, for seniors1040-SR.
I file for free at Credit Karma, and their software checked twice to ask me if I'd gotten the $1200 and $600 stimulus payments.

(25,270 posts)Got the 1st and 3rd and not the $600.00 2nd one.
Got the IRS letter dated March 5th saying it was deposited electronically so I took that letter for its word.
My accountant filed my 2020 taxes already. Yesterday I had to do some transactions with my accounts and found out I never got the 2nd $600 deposit.
Noting that that was from the Tr**p administration - I expect some funny stuff happened.
Now I don't know what to do in order to check up on that money. Can I have my accountant file and amended 2020 version? Do I try and contact the IRS myself?
Does anyone have any suggestions?

(871 posts)...I made a copy of the letter I received on March 19 which indicated the $$$ to be direct deposited. I circled the amount and added a note that said that this was never deposited. I'm assuming there is enough info in their letter that they can research to see what happened.
