I know there's a thread up with that POS Tucker Carlson pushing his misinformation on the vaccine, so I just wanted to let DUers know that there's some decent news out there regarding the efficacy of the vaccine.

He didnt challenge whether the vaccines work - he challenged those saying that you still have to mask up society even after people are vaccinated - because such a rule implies that you dont think they work.

(2,130 posts)also, I wouldnt trust anyone who is not wearing a mask and says theyre vaccinated. So why would they trust me when I say I am? Until we truly get high vaccination rates and effective treatment, I think we will be wearing masks for a very long time

(23,606 posts)we need to be honest about it. Facts are important.
In Illinois they are tracking the data. This is from The Chicago Tribune from one week ago:
While tragic, the fatalities statistically are rare, compared with the 2.5 million people fully vaccinated in the state.

(20,631 posts)was nothing in my own post that was dishonest. I was relaying specific reporting on what is happening in my local area.
Also want to note from the same article that over half of the hospitalized patients are "non-elderly" (59 years old and younger).

You are totally correct what you said was accurate. So I'm just adding that people are getting Covid post vaccination and a VERY tiny percent are hospitalized and even fewer die from covid after vaccination.
