(15,292 posts)the CO2 stuff. Regulations, EPA, California rules...way too much time spent on something that had a minor, if any effect on Floyd's death. Let's face it, we've all been stuck in traffic around other idling cars or stood outside an idling car talking to someone. No one died from it. Even suicides by CO2 poisoning in an idling car don't always succeed because the seal isn't good enough.
I agree that it just adds to Chauvin's negligence case.

(2,126 posts)Mr. Floyd's murder by that cop occurred out in the open, not a confined space. Carbon Monoxide has the same molecular weight as nitrogen and will not concentrate in the open air, especially if there is the slightest breeze. In order for CO to have caused his death, Mr. Floyd's face would have to be right up on the exhaust pipe of the vehicle. There is no physical way that CO could contribute to his death since CO, even along the busiest of roads, is always well below the values that are immediately dangerous to life and health.
