This isn't renaming a post office or funding the widening of a state highway. It'd be a major Democratic Party action that would alter the function of the third branch of federal government and the history of our nation.

Pelosi said she backed President Joe Biden’s recent move to create a commission to study possible expansion of the Supreme Court: “I don’t know that that’s a good idea or a bad idea. I think it’s an idea that should be considered.”

"It’s not out of the question," Pelosi said of the broader push.

word has it that Roberts is delaying it until fall if it takes the bill up at all. Outlawing abortion after 15 weeks may not pass this far right court.

The bill is counterproductive to Biden's task force looking at the Supremes.

Brava, Speaker Pelosi!!!

FDR floated the same idea (and for the same reason: the conservative Court was mired in the legal consensus of the 19th century) and faced a tremendous backlash which most likely cost Democrats and liberals seats in both Houses.

Better to wait.

That an evil dumb aberration like Drumpf appointed 3, one at the very end of his term.....way later than the Merrick Garland nomination that McTurtle stole.......well it stinks.

We play nice and they kick us to the curb.

It just isn’t right or fair.

taking a yes/no position makes sense. Prioritizing makes sense too. Too many balls in the air, you can mess things up. Especially with some members who like to put the brakes on progress.

That also gives the president’s commission plenty of time for gathering the needed data/arguments, etc.
