Anyone else get the impression the cops are scared shitless, and are acting out?

Their days of cheerfully committing murder then getting a paid vacation may be coming to an end.

Loss of qualified immunity, and the prospect of being tried and convicted for things their badges used to protect them from, have got the doughnut pirates scared stiff.

They're trying to get as much extra-judicial murder under their straining gunbelts as they can...

make a big difference. Counties aren't going to tolerate the insurance premiums required for large payouts like in George Floyd's case, without having to change their methods.

I'm not sure it's anymore prevalent than before, but nowadays they can't escape body cameras and witnesses with phones.

Bet it won't be long before there is a national database where disciplinary actions can be checked to keep the bad ones -- at least the ones who are caught -- from going elsewhere.

Authoritarian regimes do not willingly give up power. It must be removed forcefully.

It's like Will Smith said: Police brutality isn't getting worse; it's getting filmed.

Murderous cop interaction will end very fucking quick if they are held personally responsible.

Loss of future employment and pension would make their hair trigger finger think twice.

On edit: Lets all hope this Chauvin maniac goes down! That could be a huge step in the right direction. That was straight up murder without even using a gun.

Sick fuck needs a rubber room and straitjacket!

Which allows the authoritarian sociopaths to climb up the ranks and bully their "brothers and sisters" into participating in their snowflake power trips and tantrums against anyone they feel is not respecting them. Any police that even talks turning one of their own in for bad behavior is quickly made an example of.

The police do not have the most dangerous job in the US. Construction workers die on the job at a much greater percentage per worker. Police die of suicide more than they do on the job - and much of that is due to the stress of living up to a lone gunslinger/Punisher attitude the Killology trailers foist on them.
I saw an article where one cop admitted to blowing up photos of his kids for range practice because the "instructor" told him that's what he had to do to be able to pull a trigger on anyone no matter how weak or innocent looking, or he could get ambushed and killed.
These "instructors" are going around teaching police that if they could shoot photos of their spouse or kids, they could shoot someone else's kid, a pregnant woman, or someone's grandfather on a walker during a conflict. No wonder cops have a high incidence of domestic abuse and suicide. The "Police Unions" encourage brutality to keep rank and file under control.

That is sick, perverted, and evil.

And it explains a lot about cops...
