Kyrsten Sinema Got Mocked For Posting A Picture Of Her Brunching While Wearing A Ring That Reads...

‘Fuck Off’

Kyrsten Sinema has become one of the least popular Democrats in Congress, not only for so often siding with those on the other side of the aisle but for doing so in sometimes flamboyant fashion. In March, she became persona non grata on social media after footage making a goofy — and, many charged, cartoonishly insensitive — show out of voting down a bill to raise the minimum wage for the first time in 12 years. Now it’s a picture that’s driving people mad.

The Arizona Senator posted it in her Instagram stories, but it found its way to Twitter thanks to a screengrab. It finds Sinema at what looks like a gawdy Sunday brunch, at a table, emphatically sipping from what appears to be a Sangria. Her pink hat matches her pink glasses, but there was another fashion accessory that jumped out at people: a ring that bears the words “F*ck off.”

People had a lot of fun mocking her get-up, but most dwelled on the latter. It was a reminder that Sinema rarely toes the party line, seeing herself as an individual, not someone who could help her fellow Democrats achieve some real goals that could help people, like a substantially raised minimum wage. It was also reminiscent of Melania Trump’s infamous jacket bearing the words “I really don’t care do u?”, which was seen as a big middle finger to her husband’s countless critics (and all the people whose lives he ruined or made difficult).

So when people zoomed in on Sinema’s “f*ck you” ring, it seemed like it was directed towards constituents stuck with a low minimum wage.

.

We're in a parallel universe:

John McCain famously does the 'thumbs down' to save the Affordable Care Act and common folk.
Kyrsten Sinema emulates McCain's hand gesture to fuck over the common folk.

Even the Slow Clap guy in Not Another Teen Movie would know not to do what she did.

Here's another image that memorialized her action.

I did however happily vote for her, and cheered her victory, first Dem in a long time here.

I would add though that you can't be very liberal representing this state. I think her style is meant to tell us all where her head would be at ... if she could just vote however and have any chance of keeping her job.

We could criticize that I suppose, but she's really not unique in this regard, and it IS 'her job' to represent the whole state.

I know who she is because she represented my district. I voted for her over the Obama and Bill Clinton endorsed candidate in her first Congress primary thinking she would be more liberal but I was dead wrong. She used to be a Green and worked for Nader's 2000 campaign. She was also an anti-Iraq war activist and said things like Bush (SR) and Reagan were the real Osama & Saddam lovers. I saw all the attack ads every election and she was still elected. My district also voted for Greg Stanton & Biden.

nothing to address the elephant in the room which is Congress and how it drags its heels on raising it in a timely fashion which is the cause of the more and more people having to struggle to even keep food on the table and a roof over their heads.
What we really need is a real minimum wage solution such as linking it to the federal poverty level as reported by the Census Bureau.
The formula I imagine should go something like this.
Federal poverty level for one person $12,760 + 200% = $38,280 divided by 52 weeks = $736.15 a week divided by 40 hours = $18.40 an hour which then is what the minimum wage is set as.
That way it automatically adjusts as the poverty level adjusts and without Congress arguing over it.

Best we can do is to gain at least a net plus 2 seats in 2022 (heavy lift, a net plus 3 is about our ceiling, and we may lose both the House and the Senate as we traditionally get slaughtered in first midterms) so we can make her and Manchin redundant. Then primary her in 2024 with another Kelly type of moderate who isn't all contrarian and random like Sinema. Forget primarying Manchin in 2024, he is the only Dem who can win in WV, and his chances are fairly poor then, we barely won in 2018 with that monster Blue Wave at his back.

I fear she is simply too self-absorbed, insufficiently self-aware, and far too immature to be a US Senator. Maybe she will "grow up," but I am increasingly reminded of a handful of others who "washed out" quite early when they failed the voters who gave them an incredible chance.

I dont care about any "Cringe". Its flat not an issue for me. She could like a power ranger or a rugrat or a charicter from a Highlander show flashback, be a Furry or an unrepentant nudist, whatever. Its all irrelevant, and Id even go so far as to say we need to let go of the drive to force anyone to dress a certain way, so I appreciate people challenging the norms of "acceptable" dress.

Lets look at what they do and not get hung up on the superficial.

I voted for Deedra Abboud in the 2018 Senate Primary but Sinema had more campaign cash and powerful endorsements. Sinema also declined to debate her.

The state party is more liberal than Sinema. Brianna Westbrook the Vice Chair of the Arizona Democratic Party is with DSA for example.

What the hell is wrong with this person? Seriously. Gleefully voting against the minimum wage with a cruel mockery worthy of any of the Republican assholes was disgusting. It’s as if she thought she was doing something comparable to McCain’s famous thumbs down moment without recognizing that his was to help people who needed it and hers was the exact opposite.

She seems to be completely tone deaf. People elected Democrats for a reason and it wasn’t so she could grandstand against the very people who put the party in power.

What happened to having at least the illusion of dignity and statesmanship? Wearing a ring like that is something you’d see a rebellious teen do, it’s beneath a Democratic Senator. Someone needs to talk to her.

to believe that Manchin will switch parties or fall prey to the idiotic praise from the GOP. He has a lot of seniority within the Democratic Party, which he would instantly lose if he decided to bolt.

Sinema, on the other hand, acts manic and is unpredictable. She craves attention, as evidenced by eye-rolling social media posts like this one, and her weird curtsy that she used to highlight her opposition to the minimum wage increase. She doesn’t have any equity to speak of in the Democratic Party, either.

Does she have an agenda beyond seeking attention?
