Story at a glance
Ladders are being used by undocumented migrants to cross portions of the U.S.-Mexico border wall.
The $15 billion border wall was a cornerstone of former President Trumps 2016 campaign.
Only about 80 miles of previously nonexistent wall was constructed during Trumps presidency.
The $15 billion border wall built under former President Trump is being scaled by people using $5 ladders, according to Texas Monthly.
The report cites U.S. Border Patrol agents, who monitor the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border that crosses into southern Texas, who stated they often find ladders left behind by undocumented migrants who use them to climb over certain portions of the border wall.
Trumps promises of building a border wall were the cornerstone of his 2016 presidential campaign. He pledged to build a wall spanning 1,000 miles funded by Mexico. During his presidency, more than 400 miles of already-existing border wall were reinforced and only about 80 miles of previously nonexistent wall were constructed, and it was funded by federal taxes.
"Unlike the wall, Nichols said, these ladders are functional."

(24,528 posts)If they only spent $12MM/mile, thats < than $1BB total. So the 400 miles of already built wall cost $14BB to reinforce? Hmmmmm love to see a real investigation as to how the money was actually spent. Betcha there's serious "consulting" fees involved in the total bill.
